Journey Planning Managed Service
Overview
The Transport and Data Managed Services Lot within the Framework provides public sector and operator purchasers with a range of secure, reliable, and scalable 'managed' solutions for handling the movement and management of critical transport and data information and services. By using managed services, purchasers benefit from expert monitoring, proactive issue resolution, and optimised infrastructure without the burden of managing complex systems in-house, all while maintaining compliance, security, and performance standards.
This Framework Lot (Part 1) is for the provision of Journey Planning data preparation, collation, presentation, supply and management through a dedicated UK hosted Managed Service. The core functional elements of the document describe the deployment of the data management system and output platform to manage, process, and deliver multimodal transport information. The system must ingest timetable and stop data (via TXC, EBSR, BODS, or manual entry), integrate mapping and location datasets, and consolidate everything into a National Journey Planner.
The Managed Service supports the exporting of material to TNDS, BODS, and third parties in multiple formats including: TXC, GTFS, XML, SIRI and NeTEx and generates outputs including journey planning services (web, apps, APIs), timetables, maps, and real-time feeds. Additional functionality through the managed service also includes real-time information processing, training and support for users, with variable access levels, and partner licensing for new adopters, with outputs ranging from public-facing journey planners to disruption information, RTI feeds, and customisable publicity templates.
